The phrase “Religion plays such a big role here ya” from the movie Selamat Pagi, Malam or In the Absence of the Sun. Maybe it's just a simple phrase that we have always heard, but in some countries, it does play such a big role. Religion is more than a personal belief system. It is deeply embedded in social life. Sometimes, people, conscious or not, give judgment, opinion, and morality shaped by religion.

The link between internalized misogyny within society and the persistent victim-blaming that haunts victims.

Girls and women alive today experienced physical or sexual violence in their live (WHO, 2025). 650 million is not small number across the world, how devastating it is the way 1 in 5 girls and women that alive today experiencing sexual violence (WHO, 2025). And the way society treats them being the secondary victims, as not just society but also the government, police, and school have failed to protect girls and women... Internalise misogyny that happens in society, deep-rooted and caused by biased confirmation from the environment, media, and family.... Often the tendency to blame the victims can also appear because people don't want to be blamed for the same things happening to them. Sexual violence cases can happen to anyone, so people try to figure out what they should avoid do to prevent such an incidents from happening to them, so they can feel safe (Ken & Wallace, 2020)....
